Bonjour! I am a native French, born and raised in the suburb of Paris. One year ago, I was still living in Brittany, on the west coast of France, with my husband and our two kids, a 12-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy. Then my husband’s company offered him a new position in Denver. We were given the opportunity to discover a new culture and to learn a new language. So let’s go for it! The move has been challenging, especially for the kids who did not speak English at all. After one year in an American School they are almost proficient in English and my main issue now is that they do not lose their French! We still speak French at home, but as any French kids, they still need to study French so they will not forget the grammar, the vocabulary, they will learn new words and they will know the culture. So I teach them. Back in France I was an Event Marketing Manager, training many interns. Teaching how to plan an Event or teaching French is not so different. You have to care about the student, have an individual approach and make it as fun as possible.
